Camping in Style: Glamping
For those who want to get away from it all and take a weekend retreat to get reconnected with nature, there’s a new camping trend that will let you escape without having to release the conveniences of modern life. Luxury camping, or “Glamping”, provides sophisticated campers with an outlet to get back to the basics without having to use their basic primal instincts for survival. Secluded campgrounds with amenities not common in nature can be the perfect weekend getaway for those of us who just need a break from the hustle and bustle of our busy every day lives. Check out some of these features that are common to luxury camping!
1. Yurts (large canvas tents that take the shape of teepees) are set up on wooden platforms, and some even include real bed, with the most elaborate ones spanning several rooms. You can avoid soggy sleeping bags and waking up with aches and pains from sleeping on uneven surfaces by choosing a yurt or other large tented option with futons, beds, and more.
2. Real bathrooms with running water and hot showers are equip at some luxury camping sites, so after a day of hiking through the woods, swimming and fishing in remote lakes and lagoons, building campfires and cooking outside, you can rinse all the dirt and grime off and feel fresh once again.
3. Cooking utensils and other kitchen materials are provided to help you prepare a nice, fire heated meal at the end of the day. You don’t have to feel ravished off of trail mix and granola bars at the end of a long day.
4. While most luxury camping sites are located in secluded, remote areas off in the woods or on the beach, many are part of an interconnected network of sites that have fully equipped main campground headquarters. So even when you’re loving the feeling of being away from it all, you know there is a mainstay nearby to help you with anything you may need.
5. What is direct tv? Why, it’s cable tv you can travel with! Get it. Travel with your favorite reality shows!
So go ahead and sleep under the stars, roast marshmallows and become one with nature again in a relaxing camping getaway, all without feeling the stresses of not having to deal with the true inconvenience of nature we’re not commonly used to. Go Glamping!
