Ever wondered when you’re preparing to plan a lengthy family vacation or romantic getaway for two what all those little gold stars mean next to the names of hotels you are researching on the travel booking sites or in the office of your travel agent?  Most people can tell that more stars means “better” in some way, but what are the kinds of things you should be able to reasonably expect from a four star hotel, and how might that compare with your findings in a one star hotel?  Maybe you imagine that in a one star hotel, there is limited parking space, annoying early check-outs, and possibly not even the availability of coffee.  In a five star establishment, perhaps you expect a personal trainer, a shopping assistant, and valet parking.
